Beginning next month, you’ll find new in-room guest guides waiting for you. Working with Mendocino.com. we’ve compiled a complete and colorful guide to the inn and the Mendocino Coast’s finest activities and entertainment. Better than any literature rack, you’ll be able to research everything from the history of the Inn and Elk to tips on whale watching and finding just the right hiking trail.

When your visit is at an end we’ll give you a very special departing gift — a hand-bound, 20-page album that features the story of the inn, the Village of Elk’s colorful history, our best photographs, and your favorite breakfast recipes — all printed on handmade paper.

Save the date! Saturday, September 8th, 2007. This nationally recognized charity art and wine auction and tasting is one of the most spectacular events on the North Coast — a festive atmosphere in the beautiful Mendocino Coast Botanical Gardens.

The Wine Tasting is held outdoors, along the garden paths, from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm. Each year over 100 of California's highly acclaimed wineries showcase their best vintages. The wine is complemented by samples of the excellent cuisine of over 50 of Mendocino County's restaurants and food purveyors. To add to the festivities, musical groups perform throughout the gardens in a variety of styles including French and Irish folk music, Classical, Jazz, and Big Band.

Auctioning art successfully at WineSong! is a reflection of Mendocino’s vibrant art scene. This year’s auction takes place in a tent on the coastal Headlands from 2:00 to 5:00 pm, featuring nearly 100 exciting lots, in addition to the silent auction with more than 120 lots.
